With hospitality facing a tough few months, catch these 13 Marketing Tips to Combat Coronavirus in this special episode. Action these across all your media channels - Owned, Paid and Earned. Mostly via social, in-venue, digitally (website, email database, text) and good old fashioned phone. - Push what you are doing to step up cleaning in venue, kitchen, cutlery, tables, crockery, team, food hygiene, loos. A care statement. - Push what you are doing to step up training and shift briefing for teams. Show them in action doing the right thing. - Post positives about guests who are visiting and what they are saying. Get vox pops / talking heads from them. Post these lots. - Push any changes you are making re social distancing. Halving the number of tables, queuing in venue etc. - Push delivery and collection of people want low / no contact. - Push private rooms / areas that are bookable for lower numbers. - Push even harder if you are a local venue as it looks like people are staying more locally at present. - Push gift vouchers for those who have booked but may cancel and those who want to support. - Be proactive about contacting those who have booked and try to confirm / land a future date / gift voucher. - Create Just Giving page for your true brand fans who will want to see you stay in business / send your team a tip to say thanks. - Push how you can serve your local community best in the next 12 weeks. Can your venue adapt into something else for the short term or have a dual focus. Click and collect, offer essentials you can get through your wholesale suppliers, if really empty can you become a testing centre / medical facility? - Can you help support local NHS, Emergency Services, Carers, Teachers if possible? - Can you send out hampers / packs to those in need / older people who are more in need than most? Overall (try to...) - Be Positive, Be Kind and Be Yourself - it is why they love you anyway. Stay away from seeming opportunistic and judge the level of laughs / jokes as this is serious for many.
